The last time Mac Miller commanded a mic in the fine city of Baltimore, it was the night he dropped Best Day EverSeeing how long ago that may seem, it only reinforces the moves he’s made since that release in mid-March, and going back a little further; the overwhelming progress since K.I.D.S. in summer 2010.  This past Tuesday, Mac and the Blue Slide Park Tour touched down at Ram’s Head Live for one of their earlier dates of the extensive and country-wide excursion.  Accompanied by Pittsburgh comrades The Come Up, and LA’s next riser Casey Veggies, Mac & his whole crew more or less killed it.

Both the energy that Miller brings and the captivation he gets from his fans is evident in the vid below.  The dude’s got the crowd eating out of the palm of his hand, and rather than going easy on ‘em and riding it out, he works to out-do the energy of those looking up.  Watch below, and hit the jump for a series of photos courtesy of Sean Dackermann, along with a little more description of the show itself.

For any of you anticipating dates of the Blue Slide Park Tour, know that you’ll be in for a show.  Seeing as this was one of his earlier stops, and prior to the drop of the increasingly-hyped album, Miller held the un-heard material back, and rather filled his set with notables off both the previous  tapes + EP, along with the two singles from BSP to date – “Frick Park Market” & “Smile Back”.  In between, he hopped on Chris Brown’s banger “Beautiful People”, along with DMX’s classic “Party Up”.

All in all, the set was a nice balance of familiar material while keeping the energy high, but allowing moments for conversation and reflection.  The two highlights on that note were an interlude to re-iterate the unique release plans of Miller behind BSP (video on that soon), and furthermore his introduction to the ode to lost love-ones, “Poppy”.  For that piece, he actually brought on stage a sign that a few girls in the front row had made in memory of a friend of theirs who’d passed recently, only adding to the connection Mac’s able to establish with fans and the quality content of his material.

See the shots below, with more of Casey Veggies & The Come Up to follow.  Also be sure to check dates for the Blue Slide Park Tour, which is actually swinging back to the east coast come November…
