Aer & Dylan Owen – Live @ Tabor Academy, Marion, MA (VTT Original Photos)
Tabor Academy, a boarding school in Marion, Massachusetts, had the pleasure of hosting one of the many stops of Blue Richard Media’s Takeover Tour as Aer, Dylan Owen, and a slew of opening acts rocked the stage at October’s “Fallfest” last month. Levi Bazilio, The Paper Boys, Dylan Owen, and Aer introduced Tabor to an array of different styles of hip-hop to close the festivities, and VTT was there to cop a few exclusive photos for your viewing pleasure. The show’s first opening act, Levi Bazilio, set things off on a positive note by performing six songs with some impressive delivery and hype stage presence. Opening his set with disclosing that this was his “first real show” caught everyone off guard, but the crowd didn’t let it get to him as they were going hard for the entire set. The 15 year old aspiring artist treated the crowd to a combination covers like “The Spins Remix” as well as original songs like “Soon” and “Lost In The Sound.”

Next up was The Paper Boys. Nick Gray, Luck Money, and Jordy on the Drums all took to the stage to introduce their music to Tabor’s student body. Opening their performance with a some impromptu freestyling, the group quickly garnered most everyone in the area in front of the stage and impressed them with their characteristic sound and chemistry. Even though it was only their second show, the novice rappers flowed seamlessly over Jordan Milano on the drums, coming with a polished flow and buckets of enthusiasm. The set ended with some freestyle drumming from Jordy, assuring that anyone who hadn’t been aware of their presence on campus now did.

Finally the main acts. Dylan Owen and DJ Mikey soon began their set to a handful of avid fans and a whole lot of new listeners. Regardless of their familiarity with Owen, the crowd was still feeling Dylan and Mikey as they performed some old favorites like “The Book Report” as well as newer tracks like “Keep Your Friends Close”. Tabor’s crowd was meager in comparison to Choate’s the night before, but he still delivered a hype performance and left a lasting impression on the student body.

Minutes before sundown Aer grabbed hold of the mics and brought a close to the concert as Fall Fest entered its sixth and final hour. Equipped with only a guitar and mics, the duo delighted the crowd after an agonizing half-hour wait due to technical difficulties and scheduling conflicts. Aer masterfully stole the attention of the students, teachers, and even pedestrians as they rocked out to some crowd favorites, getting many to sing along with “Feel I Bring” and “Water On The Moon”. Surprising even their DJ, Aer ended their set with inviting everyone on stage to be part of a closing cypher as they performed their final two songs.
