Lana Del Rey – "Video Games" Live on David Letterman (Video)
We live in an age of music where independent artists top the billboard charts, rappers sign multi-million dollar deals before the release of their first mixtape, and beautiful up and coming singers like Lana Del Rey can perform on SNL and the rest of the late night circuit before releasing an LP. After taking a lot of flack for her under-whelming SNL performance last month, Lana returned to late night TV to perform her smash hit “Video Games”. It is pretty crazy how quickly she has blown up, in a matter of months she has gone from relative unknown to racking up over 25MM views on Youtube.
If you have been following her story, you know that her success has come with a fair share of hate from blogs and people around the industry. Say what you want about the “gangsta Nancy Sinatra”, the girl is clearly extremely talented and love her or hate her, at least people are talking about her. Check out this great write up in Pigeons and Planes to get their take on why the media has received Lana they way they have. Also be sure to support the girl and pick up her debut album Born To Die available now on iTunes.
